Rauno Ronkainen BIO
Rauno Ronkainen is Helsinki based cinematographer with more than 15 years of experience in feature films and TV-drama. He started his career already when studied cinematography in University of Industrial Design, Helsinki, early 90’s. His career consist on 19 feature films, many long TV-drama series, commercials and documentaries. He’s work has always focused on combination of traditional and latest techniques. He has been exploring movie making and cinematography throughout his career – not at least since he has been working as a professor of cinematography in Aalto University alongside his career as a freelancer cinematographer. He is extremely interested about dramaturgy and content of the script and like to work in close collaboration with actors and directors. His work as a cinematographer and working philosophy has always based on collaboration with other team members, careful pre-production and sharing the commitment and passion to the drama and storytelling together with the director and producers.
His work has been awarded in both domestic and international festivals.
